I don't know why, but I noticed the other day that a recent message wasn't visible in Textra, even though the older messages in the thread were (and all were visible in the other message apps I have installed - yes, I don't know why I have three, magpie tendencies). Feel free to back up the messages first if you want, but they aren't stored in the Textra app itself, or any SMS app, but in a separate message storage app, so as long as you don't clear data for that app you should be fine. In which case uninstalling and reinstalling Textra should force it to resync and solve the problem (though you'll have to redo your personal customisations and settings). When you open Messages for web on a computer, your conversations on any other computers or browser tabs will become inactive.Can you see them using the built-in app? If so then they are still in the database, and it's just Textra has got out of sync. You can pair your Messages account on multiple devices, but only one will be active at a time. Note: The QR code for Messages for web is unique to your computer and pairs the mobile app to that computer. Messages for web sends SMS messages using a connection from your computer to your phone, so carrier fees will apply, just like on the mobile app. You can use your computer to chat with your friends through Messages for web, which shows what’s on your Messages mobile app. My Pixel 2 has not yet gotten the feature rolled out to it, so I did not have a chance to try it out. All you have to do is open Messages on your phone, tap the options menu and select Messages for Web, and scan the QR code with your phone. I certainly know that not having to pick up my phone 20 times a day while using my PC will be a welcomed addition to Android functionality.
